Phony. Baloney. Romney
We've all seen it dozens of times now, Mitt Romney, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, parading around various campaign stops in rolled-up sleeves on his impeccably, brilliantly white, long-sleeved shirt, above his impeccably washed (and ironed?) jeans. If the 'hard work' Romney is doing would soil his cuffs if he wore a long-sleeved shirt, why didn't he just put on a SHORT-sleeved shirt? Because, you see, that would show foreknowledge of how hard the work he has to do might get. But he didn't anticipate hard work that might dirty his shirt, now did he? And he couldn't pretend to be a manual laborer if he couldn't "roll up his sleeves" — an idiom that everyone knows means "prepare to work hard". His image-manufacturers — the only American manufacturers Romney is concerned with — want that idiom to work subconsciously on the voters.

This foto appears alongside a satiric article on a "one man satire website operation!" (unrelated topic.com), so ignore the text except perhaps for the observation in the caption about Romney's pretentious rolled-up sleeves.

But for what, or whom, is Romney working hard? His class, the super-rich. His race, the super-white. His party, the super-selfish. Not for the "little people". Not for the middle class, which Romney, in an infamous campaign appearance, dared pretend to belong to. Mr. Superphony has even pretended to be unemployed, and thus to understand the plight of the unemployed. Oh, he's unemployed alrite. He hasn't had a job in 5 years, since he left the governorship of Massachusetts (a Liberal Northeastern state, tho the Radical Right, which HATES Massachusetts, is now supposed to forget that)! Why has no one in media or the Obama campaign pointed out that Romney hasn't had a real job in 5 YEARS?
+
He's not exactly "indolent" or "lazy". Running constantly for President does require a lot of effort. But it's all for himself, not for a company, not for a government, not for a nonprofit organization, or charity or kids or the sick or the hungry, or for any cause of any kind. Just for himself. Mitt Romney is not a self-made man, just a self-obsessed man.
+
As for his claim to being middle class, NO member of the middle class has a fortune of $250 million. Romney cynically acts as tho the people are so stupid that they will accept that a megamillionaire is middle-class!
+
Romney's entire campaign is based on a public persona that is a lie. Why is no one confronting him on that lie and forcing him to let us see the real Romney — if there is one.
+
Where's the Biff? Biff and Muffy — sorry: Mitt (and who the hell is named "Mitt"?) and Ann Romney — are both phonies. Ann Romney is fully part of the campaign, but hides behind the pretense that the family of a candidate is off-limits to attack or even investigation. So we are supposed to let the campaign's version of Ann's modest, timid, dutiful housewifeliness stand unchallenged. No. It's a scam, a fraud, a sham — a lie. And her being a liar, equally with her husband, is a legitimate matter for public inquiry and exposure.
+
Romney's contemptuous assumption that the voters are supremely stupid is truly astonishing. He really thinks that if he POSES with rolled-up sleeves, tens of millions of voters will be fooled into thinking he spent most of his life as a manual laborer who pulled himself up by his bootstraps and isn't afraid to work like a slave for the other "little people", just like himself.
+
We are supposed to forget that Romney was born into a rich family and never did so much as one day of manual labor in his life. He never even worked in the mailroom or at an entry-level job in a major corporation.
+
Thurston Howell IV and his wife Lovey II should just 'fess up to being super-rich, and brag about it. They should conduct TV news crews thru their mansions and yacht/s (if any), and tell people they too can be super-rich, if only they let Biff and his class take complete control of society, of all economic policy decisions, and of all economic and governmental institutions. That is, after all, what Romney's ilk do assert, tho not forthritely.
+
Let Biff and Muffy show how deeply they care about full employment by showing how many servants they employ in their mansions, yacht/s, etc. Let Muffy be seen speaking sweetly to the "help", showing that she knows the name of each and every one of the little people (nay, tiny people) who inhabit her realm, and that her rule over them is beneficently benign — as too will be the Romneys' rule over all you little people out there.
+
Then let them show how trustworthy Biff is by showing his consistency over the years. Explain how the individual mandate in Romneycare is completely different from the individual mandate in Obamacare, and how forcing people to buy health insurance at the state level is completely constitutional, while forcing people to buy health insurance at the national level is completely unconstitutional. Explain how the Fourteenth Amendment does not apply to Romneycare, and how the U.S. Supreme Court could void the Federal individual mandate without also voiding the Massachusetts individual mandate.
+
Let Thurston Howell IV show how trickle-down tax breaks for the rich have produced unending prosperity ever since introduced in the Reagan Administration. Show how many jobs have been not just saved but actually created for the little people by tax breaks for the super-rich.
+
Show that the vast increase in the national debt — EIGHT TIMES what it had been when Reagan came into office — has nothing to do with the Republicans' insistence that the rich should pay low or no taxes.
+
And let Biff and Muffy show how well we can all live, by showing us their real lives of sumptuous luxury in huge mansions with huge staffs of servants. Let Biff give us periodic chats from alongside a giant fireplace flanked by hugely expensive furniture on exquisite Oriental rugs, with Ming vases or Lalique art glass on the mantel; or from a library with mahogany or teak bookcases, first edition after first edition lining the shelves beyond a 36" art globe inside a rich wood base, on yet another lush Oriental rug; or from the fantail deck of his yacht, with a cabin boy serving him a cocktail and Thurston thanking him by name(!). Don't hide your wealth, Biffy Boy. Exult in it, show it off, say in so many words what your party has been telling us for decades: you too — everybody — can be obscenely rich, and if you're not, it's all your fault.
