Leno's Rightwing Writers. Jay Leno's monologs of late have featured many Radical Right positions. Why is that? Has Leno himself, on getting older, become a Radical Rightwinger? Or has he merely failed to edit the "jokes" given to him by writers whose judgment he has heretofore trusted? Anti-Obama and anti-Democratic "jokes" starkly outnumber anti-Republican jokes, by a wide margin. His studio audience does not laff at Leno's new Rightwing slanders. Shouldn't Jay have noticed the disapproval of his audience? Perhaps we cannot excuse him for the sins of his writers, if he knows that his in-studio audience finds such anti-Democratic "jokes" unfunny and unpleasant, but persists in inflicting them on not just his studio audience, but also his national broadcast audience.

His Radical-Right tilt in recent weeks must not pass without comment. He must be confronted and asked why he has gone over to the Dark Side.

P.S., September 3rd: New ratings show that Leno has experienced his worst summer EVER. Coincidence? I don't think so.

(The current U.S. military death toll in Iraq, according to the website "Iraq Coalition Casualties", is 4,416 — for Israel.)
