Fiting Fascism. I sent the following message via feedback form to Senators Reid (Democratic Senate leader), Lautenberg, and Menendez (the two Senators from my state, NJ) today.
Unconstitutional indefinite detention

How on Earth could a Democratic-controlled Senate approve an insanely unconstitutional permission for the military to arrest U.S. citizens and detain them indefinitely without trial? How could you allow that? Is the Senate grandstanding, expecting that the Courts will knock down any such provision as a plainly absurd assault upon the Constitution? What if the Courts do not? YOU could be arrested and held indefinitely, without trial. ANYbody could. The entire Senate, the entire House, could be rounded up and sent into a secret military prison thru "extraordinary rendition". You must defeat this insane, fascistic proviso, even if it requires you, like Mr. Smith in the classic movie "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", to literally filibuster with hours and hours of speechifying on political philosophy, readings from the Constitution, Federalist Papers, and every other great document of our civilization about personal freedom from Government oppression.
We must ALL speak up to stop this, before it is too late, and criticism of Government could get you picked up and sent to one or a series of military prisons in countries where torture is permitted. Seach for "[name of Senator/Representative] email" and work to preserve our civilization from willful, malicious tyranny by fools who have no respect for American values.

(The current U.S. military death toll in Iraq, according to the website "Iraq Coalition Casualties", is 4,483 — for Israel.)
